May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !
Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.
Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello Group,
I'm sure this has been answered but I could not find it...
Can someone tell me why I keep getting this error message when my computer has more than enough space available...
Thanks in advance
@altair60 Can you tell us more please? What version of APP do you use? What OS and OS version are you on? Are you using an internal HD or an external (non-SSD) HD? If the latter, do you get this error message as well when using the internal HD? How much disk space is available? I may have more questions depending on the answers you give.
Hey Wouter, thanks for the reply...
I figured it out.
User error
I had the working directory set to my storage disc instead of my HD...
Once the file was moved everything worked as specified.Â
Slowly, but it's working...
Thank you again for your timeÂ
Purchased APP a few weeks ago and I am having the same issue when APP gets to the analyze stars part of the process. Windows 11. 32gb of RAM and plenty of disk space. Frustrating to say the least.Â
@allison1932 Hey Mark, yeah it took me a minute to figure it out even though it was staring me in the face all the time...
At the top left you have buttons for license, CFG, HDD and openGL4...
Make sure that HDD number reflects your hard disc space when you choose your working directory.Â
In my case the file I was using was located on a installed SD card which didn't have enough space which led to the dreaded "Not enough space" pop up...
Once I created a new file on my desktop and copied that file to it, the problem was solved...
...which allowed me to move on to other problems 🤣
Hope this helps
Tony
I know this thread is old, but I am having the same issue. AAP falsely states I don't have enough disk space, when in fact I have 1.8TB available! This should be way more than enough for APP to process. I've tried switching to another large drive but still get the same error.
Â
This must be an issue with APP. Anyone else experiencing this?
Where is your work directory? The reason I ask is because that is the drive it is using even for the swap files, and when you do a huge mosaic or with a higher drizzle (2x drizzle = 4x size, 3x drizzle = 9x size) on that can happen. In that case I just move some folders to another drive and it solves the problem. I think it is likely because of swap files.
The work directory is my D-drive. Not my main C drive, but my secondary, internal drive. Â
I'm not sure I understand your solution, move some files to another drive? Can I have two working directories?
No, you would need to move files that you aren't using to the other drive, for instance, if you were working out of something like D:>>>Folder for NGC300 and you had other folders on the D drive named Folder for M42, Folder for IC5070, Folder for M107 you could move the folders for M42, M107, and IC5070 over to the C drive temporarily to get more room on your D drive so you could finish out your NGC300 stack.
Oh, duh, I should have realized that's what you meant. Sorry, it was a long day.
In any case, the D-drive I'm using is empty (1.8TB available out of 2TB). That little bit of used space are system folders (I presume). One would think 1.8TB should be enough space even for several nights of imaging.
That is strange. Is the working directory where you have all your files that you are integrating on that drive and also set as your save directory? Are you doing drizzle? Are you doing a large mosaic? The reason I ask is even running a 72 panel mosaic done with a QHY600M in SHO with 72x full size master lights of each filter I only got that message with around 500gb of space left on a drive. I think that APP does some weird stuff with swap files, but I am not sure what.
It’s over a thousand 30s subs with 2X drizzle.  I don’t think the working directory and the save folder were on the same drive.  Does this matter?
Yes, that does seem to matter. Try making sure both are in the same place and of course on the same drive first. If that doesn't take care of it try turning drizzle down to 1.5x and see if that takes care of it, then maybe try it with drizzle off. If that doesn't do it try breaking the amount of subs you have into multiple sessions, for instance if you had 1200 subs break them batches of 300 each, place those batches in their own subfolders, and then stack each batch, then go back and run the master lights from those as lights and stack those together as one session, but this time without calibration files since they will already be calibrated.
Hi @tom62e,
The working directory and save folder can be on different partitiosns, that does not matter for being able to process the data. The amount of free space on the partition where you set your Working Directory is essential.
If you run out of space with 1000s of images then we may need to calculate how much space you would need I think. How large in pixel dimensions are your images? Are hey monochrome or in color?
