Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
This really wasn't a mosaic, just a 2-panel set of Ha data integrated in Normal Mode. It's not at any seam but just down the middle and most of the way across one panel. I used LNC degree 4 interation 3 and MBB 15%

BULLETIN!! I reran the subs from JUST THE ONE PANEL and got the same problem! Didn't relate to integration with the other panel data. I' running again turning off MBB and LNC just for fun
I ran calibration, registration and integration in PI thinking it might uncover a camera issue, but the anomaly doesn't appear in the PI results 🤨
Signing off for now, let me know if there's anything else I can try
Allright, that's weird. Could you send me the data so I can have a good look at it? You can share the wetransfer (or whatever) link to vincent@astropixelprocessor.com
Thanks! I will be happy to do that if one particular path I'm following doesn't pan out. I tried a number of settings, down to integrating just a few frames, and upping other settings, until I finally got that anomaly so bad it appeared to be a solid black column with stretch marks all around it. I ran a few light frames with NO calibration and there was NO anomaly!! I have a number of cal frames saved and I use them randomly :-). I am now running a full set with another recent set of cal frames, keep your fingers crossed that is the problem. If so, time to run new cal frames
Hi Vincent - it seems to be fixed with different calibration frames! Whew. I didn't want to interrupt Mabula in working on APP - hopefully that's what he's doing. 🙂
I know what he's been doing, but can't tell yet. 😉 Interesting that calibration frames would cause this, but if it fixed it... it fixed it.
