Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello sir,
I'im using the trial version on Mac. When I load the light frames, i'm asked to indicate which filter APP has to assign to the light frames. I have ticked the LPS box given that I used a filter to reduce the light pollution.
Was I right or wrong?
Which box do I have to tick when I'am asked to indicate to which session APP needs to assign the frames:
 Is "session 1" right?
For the dark frames, I'am asked to answer to the question: " to which channel/filter do we need to assign the frames". Do I answer "LPS" or "All channels" given that I've used the LPS filter?
Do I need to assign the dark frames to all sessions?
thanks in advance for your answers,Â
 Best regards.
 Serge
@sergecohenfree-fr Hi Serge,
The answer to your first question really depends on which filter you used.
Regarding the sessions, if you only want to integrate lights from a single imaging session then "session 1" is right.
for the dark frames, since no light is involved in taking them, you can assign them to "all channels". Same for sessions. If you only loaded lights in session 1 then APP will automatically apply the darks only to that session.
HTH, Wouter
Thank you very much. The filter is Nisi natural night. Do I have to tick LPS in order to assign it to the lights?
thanks in advance.
@sergecohenfree-fr This looks like a broad band filter to me. In this case there is no difference between using LPS or leaving it at RGB.
Ok thank you very muchÂ
