Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

As a new user, I'm trying to understand the steps that APP does and wish to save the console output into a text file for analysis.

How do I do this?

I've tried using CTRL-A (on Windows) to select all the text in the console (which works) but there is no "right-click menu" to Copy it. I used CTRL-C (Windows copy) and tried pasting into a text editor but only get 10-20 lines from the start of the console.

Trying a manual "click at top and scroll down to the end" approach, I might get a few lines from somewhere else in the file.

I find it a bit disconcerting (compared to PixInsight) that the entire history of what has been done to date just disappears when I exit APP.

Or am I missing something?

A lot of the processing steps will be in the header of the files as well. But a nicer export of the console could be added I think. I'll pass this on.

Btw; Wouter just notified me it does work for him, using a Mac. I'll try it on Windows tomorrow, first have to finish some Christmas leftovers. 😉

The one thing I did notice is that it does not work well when output is being produced. But as soon as all processes are done, selecting all output with ctrl-a and copying with ctrl-c works.
