UPDATE FROM MABULA

I have had a very rough 2 months unfortunately health wise. I was struck 3x in a row with bacterial infections. The second infection occurred  after a routine hospital checkup and I became very sick. I had to rest and take a lot of antibiotics. Once I was recovering and restarting work 1 month ago, I again became sick. The infection was not yet gone, so even more antibiotics and rest was needed. Needless to say, it took a lot of my energy and I needed a lot of rest.

Finally, the infection is really gone and my energy is coming back step-by-step now and I have started work again. I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting for support. I will address all outstanding questions and e-mails step-by step and will be on the forum daily from today.

APP 2.0.0-beta47 will come soon as well, a lot of work was already completed before I became very ill, so the release is also nearly ready for you. Beta47 will be much faster actually. Many workflows will be more than 2x faster, mosaics can even be 10x faster than before because registration really received a major boost... all compared to beta46.  Before I release it, I will make sure that everything is working properly and then I will release it.

Hello,

To work with APP I need to convert DSLR RAWs to FITS, I did this with PixInsight´s batch format conversion.

The raws are 16 bit OSC.

In PixInsight´s format conversion  I set input hints to "raw cfa"
..... - output format hints: empty

In APP I set 0) RAW/FITS: force bayer CFA

With APP I calibrated LIGHTS, BIAS, FLATS..., analysed stars

APP shows "no cfa" in the image list.

When trying to analyse stars APP reports : "lights have only 1 channel", "Master BIAs / FLATS have 3 channels"

These are the informations concerning format hints in PI:

raw (r ) Load a raw Bayer RGB image without interpolation,

no white balancing, no black point correction,
with unused frame areas cropped, no frame
rotation, no highlights clipping, and no noise
                              reduction.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cfa (r ) Load a monochrome raw CFA frame.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
no-cfa (r ) Do not load a monochrome raw CFA frame.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bayer-drizzle (r ) Load a raw Bayer RGB image without interpolation.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
no-bayer-drizzle (r ) Do not load a raw Bayer RGB image.

Any suggestions (set: no-cfa?....)

Peter

You shouldn't have to convert raw's from a DSLR if they are supported by APP. Which camera are you using and did you try just loading the raws in?

...they are not supported:  IIQ /PhaseOne files. (this digital back should not be used for astro.... no surprise, but I have a landscape + milky way image (lights, bias, flats) from Tanzania which I want to develop).

Actually I am doing the second try

Nice! Would love to see it! More and more models are being supported, in the upcoming 1.076 a lot will be added. Not sure about yours though.
