Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hi all, received my new 2600MM camera coupled with a redcat 71 and I'm having some issues with combining my RGB files in AstroPixelProcessor using flats that I've taken. As you can see the combined file looks a bit weird in my opinion and also it seems as if the flats are doing absolutely nothing to get rid of the dust Motes, vignetting and things like that. Looking for some advice as to what I might be doing wrong. I've been using AstroPixelProcessor for the last few years and I'm not a novice, but I'm just stumped here.
Hi,
I had something very similar with my ASI2600MM after switching from AsiAir Pro to N.I.N.A. I had always used flats + bias, but with the switch to N.I.N.A. I was getting something like you are getting all of a sudden.
Solution? Dark Flats. I aim for histogram peak around 33% rather than the recommended 50% and all is well. Why Dark Flats? I have no idea, really, but it solved my issue. 🙃 Also, I usually create all my master calibration frames before integration.
My understanding is that you can't use flats+bias with the sensor in the 2600 because the bias does not behave in a linear way. As Jurij suggested, you should use flats+darkflats with this sensor. It worked for me.
