Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
What version are you using? And what kind of data and workflow do you use?
- @vincent-mod
- I'm using the latest version and normal workflow that I was using with my old computer and worked. On my old one I was using the 1.076.
- I'm using data from 2 setups, one with the extracted ha from an osc camera and one with the ha in mono but I've done it before on my old computer and 1.076 version and it worked just fine.Â
- Also it's sometimes freezing the computer to a state that I have to unplug it. I ran a stress test on the comluter and it passed just fine.Â
- I can't access app now as I'm running a memory test on the computer.Â
Trying to exclude any hardware issuesÂ
That is indeed sounding a bit like a hardware issue, but if all your tests don't reveal anything, I'll have to get a look at the data I think. Just to test if that isn't somehow also causing an issue now.
@vincent-mod
Finished all the tests, no errors at all so it can't be a hardware issue. I'll uninstall completely and reinstall the latest version.
I'll let you know if I still get the error.Â
Emil
It has something to do with the extracted Ha files from the OSC camera. If I remove them it seems to be working. But I don't know why it doesn't work as I've done it before on my old computer and it worked just fine. I've done 2 panels on a mosaic shot with both my setups. I shot with a Tri-band and a ha filter on the osc, I extracted the calibrated Ha from both of them and stacked them all together with the Ha subs shit with the mono camera.
If this was the first time I would do it, it would've been something else but I've done it before.Â
Can it be that the Ha from the osc camera was extracted on my old computer?Â
I had them all extracted before I got the new computer.Â

- Trying to stack the files extracted on my old computer only to see if I'm still getting the error
I figured out what Ive done wrong. When I saved the calibrated frames to extract the Ha, I firgot to check the split channels box and that's why they couldn't be normalised.Â
Excellent research on your part Emil! Yes, that would be a problem as then it's still broadband data, combining that with narrowband for normalization is not possible. Mabula is working on making this a bit easier and even possible in a different way.
