Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
After updating to Ventura 13.0.1 APP hangs at the choose directory step. I have followed the steps outlined in the MacOS Catalina and Bir Sur within no results. There is a prior post about this problem which steps I followed but no joy. Any help would be appreciated. Â Â Thank you Benjamin Hartman
@bbhar940301 Which version of APP do you use? Note that 1.083 will not run at all so can you confirm that you are on 2.0,0-beta6?
@wvreeven I do not have the beta installed, and I don't see a link for a MacOS beta on the site. Am I missing it somewhere?
@bbhar940301 APP 2.0.0 has not been released officially yet. The download links are on every forum page and not in the downloads section of the APP website.
@wvreeven Thank you so much, I have found it and it loaded.
Hi all,
We think that we might have a fixed Astro Pixel Processor version for macOS Ventura. Can you all try the following 2.0.0-beta7test version and let us know if this solves it and works properly?

@mabula-admin 2.0.0-beta7test fixed APP loading on my Intel macbook running Ventura. Thank you.
Quick question: where is the max memory setting now? Wasn't it previously in the CFG page (requiring a restart)?
Edit: I found in the first release notes for 2.0.0 that max memory is automatically set now.
Awesome Kurt @bsdkurt,
Thank you very much for your feedback ! Indeed, the 2.0.0 version is running on a new platform and we can now have the memory setup automatically. No longer need to set the max memory yourself.
