Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi there. Your email support@astropixelprocessor.com will not accept emails, so I have posted this here. My website and email are on davidclapp.co.uk

My name is David Clapp and I am a professional photographer and workshop leader based here in the UK. I work for Canon Europe and also many leading magazine titles, including Amateur Photographer, Photo Plus as well as Getty Images.

I recently downloaded the trial of APP from your website and I have since returning from Namibia. I sent images to magazines that I write for and an astro photography article based on what can be achieved with Canon cameras and a basic tracker (I have the Star Adventurer Pro) is going to get published. The software is always a complicated affair for photographers that ‘dabble’ with astro, so I am hoping to make a good feature of this. I have an astro modified EOS R and this year I managed to get some of my best images from the desert.

Could I request a full license in exchange for advertising in the article I am about to write and also support to my workshop clients? The trial I have is about to run out and I am about to head out to Jordan for more landscape and nightscape work. I feel like I have only just got started and would like to explore the software some more.

Many people ask me what software I use and until recently it has only been DSS which now feels so basic in comparison to your software. APP is a huge leap for me so I would like to promote a solution for photographers and communicate a clear pathway for non telescope based imagery.

Is this something you would able to exchange? Please look at my website - I have also been supported by PTGUI (pano software), Photo Mechanic and Helicon Focus.

With thanks

David Clapp
