Oeh, lovely signal! Also nice how the more faint swipes got out of the background.
Thanks, Vincent!
Yes, shooting quite narrow (7nm for the eXtreme) and from low bortle and excellent seeing does the trick 😀
We had a very lucky 2 weekends in a row.
Very nice image Gideon. I'm running the 2600Mcpro, GEM45G and of course APP too! I'll bookmark this image when I attempt it for the first time in a few weeks. Very nice.
@cwm2col
Thank you!
That's a great combo! Which scopes are you using for main OTA?
At the moment, my Intes MN56 Maksutov-Newtonian, with old helical focuser. Its f/6 at 762 mm and it works just great. I have another 70 mm quad petzval apo (new) that is waiting for first light but I have a bundle or targets started with the Intes so I cant swap out for a while.
@cwm2col
Sounds like time for another rig 🙂
I've been running double rig for quite sometime now, def doubles your shooting times, and makes you play around with different targets, wide, narrow, etc.
I never shoot DSO's from home, so only once, twice a month in the desert (bortle 2-3), so gotta maximize it.
Maybe someday, although longer term plans are to pier mount the setup and keep one rig going for a range of targets, switch when I want some widefield. I shoot through this uniquely.....pretty happy with what I can do considering. It also limits optino to go down the photon hoover route (f/2 to f/3.8).
