My first attempt at the Andromeda Galaxy,  I'm a newbie to Astrophotography.... Just starting out. I obviously have no clue what I'm doing but i'm giving it my best shot and enjoying every minute of it!  This is a total of 7 subs ....300 seconds each at ISO 800. Only 35 minutes total. Stacked and processed in APP with 50 Bias frames and 10 Dark frames. Now I realize the importance of more data!!!!! Will be getting more of this target next year.  Was too low in the horizon.... less than 30 degrees and lots of light pollution where i live.

Equiptment: Astro-tech 65mm Quad Apo f6.5, Canon T5i modified with Astrodon UV/IR filter added, and a clip in CLS light pollution filter. Orion Sirius mount, no guide scope as of yet. Only did a polar alignment with no star alignment.  Captured with AstroPhotographyTool linked to Cartes Du Ciel Plannetary software for tracking on a Lenova laptop. USB hub powers and controls the camera to reduce chance of thermal noise.

Hi Michael @w3tbcptd-net,

That's a great start with great equipment. Nice exposure time per sub as well 😉

Probably the addition of flats will help greatly as well. Have you tried creating flats already?
