Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi,

May I propose suggestions about the cursor in RGB combination.

We are proposed to move 6 cursors on each channel, but it's impossible to enter a precise value. It would be nice to be able to enter a number.

Regards.

Another suggestion:

It is possible to select the Main Directory.

But practissing astrophotography, Masters like bias and dark are located in another directory.

The possibility to select a "Master directory" could be very good to find them easily.

Another suggestion:

Concerning the icons that are present in the "Please select the light/bias/etc frames for your project", it could be nice to have a shortcut to go directly to the Main directory of the project.

Regards

Yes these are all great suggestions and have been requested before, the second suggestion falls into the "I'd like to save my settings" category and the first is a nice post-processing one. It's on the to-do list from Mabula.

Thank you for the answer

A new suggestion:

When starting the software, it would be nice to be directly into the directory chosen in the last session in order to avoid to restart each time from "My documents".

Regards.

Hope you had a nice Christmas, I had a short time-out during these days, but onwards we go. 🙂

Yes, also that would be nice. I believe Mabula wants to support saving settings in the next (or the one after) release.

According to separate viewer screen (with histogram), It should be genuinely nice if one could compare 2 fits. Normally ex. 2 integrations with different parameters to see what the best and what direction is that we are going ...

Today, (fortunately), APP memories the zoom and position and it's easy but lengthy to compare 2 integrations.
