May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I'm afraid RGB combine no longer extracts the correct filter designation from the filename. It seems to be limited to three letters. Any more than this it truncates. EG Blue becomes lue, Green becomes een, Luminance becomes nce

etc.

Hi John @johnt,

APP does not extract the filtername from the filename, but rather from the fits metadata and I have just checked, that does work properly.

The channel description is only for your reference and you should adjust it, so you know what channel this is. The description is not used to determine what filter assignment should be used.

Due to another bug that had to be solved relating to metadata APP 1.078 will not pick up the filter from the metadata on integrations created with 1.077 or before, so you just need to assing the right filter yourself on older integrations. If you create an integration in 1.078, all will work okay in this regard.

Thanks Mabula. I'd tested it with an integration from V1.077. I'll try doing it all from scratch.
