UPDATE FROM MABULA
I have had a very rough 2 months unfortunately health wise. I was struck 3x in a row with bacterial infections. The second infection occurred after a routine hospital checkup and I became very sick. I had to rest and take a lot of antibiotics. Once I was recovering and restarting work 1 month ago, I again became sick. The infection was not yet gone, so even more antibiotics and rest was needed. Needless to say, it took a lot of my energy and I needed a lot of rest.
Finally, the infection is really gone and my energy is coming back step-by-step now and I have started work again. I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting for support. I will address all outstanding questions and e-mails step-by step and will be on the forum daily from today.
APP 2.0.0-beta47 will come soon as well, a lot of work was already completed before I became very ill, so the release is also nearly ready for you. Beta47 will be much faster actually. Many workflows will be more than 2x faster, mosaics can even be 10x faster than before because registration really received a major boost... all compared to beta46. Before I release it, I will make sure that everything is working properly and then I will release it.
Just a quick question, with some fear off getting a ‘telling off’ lol.
on the up and down scaling algorithm (not drizzle), i was just wondering what algorithms are used.
I have seen a number in other packages, using different ones e.g bilinear, B spline, Catmull Rom etc,
and of course there is now the Topaz GigaPixel.
just curious thats all, no other reason.
Oh, I hope I didn't give that impression. Never hesitate to ask anything, that's why we're here. 🙂
For the scaling itself, I'll have to ask Mabula, I've passed your question on.
@vincent-mod hehe not at all, i thought i may be told off for implying app algorithms may be ‘simple’ compared to say topaz etc.
You have been nothing but helpful and courteous my friend!
Fjew. 😉 No we never respond like that, there is always a mix of levels in knowledge and we're totally fine with that as we love that everyone is simply enjoying the hobby and I love to (try) to explain things. 🙂

Hi Andy @andybooth,
If Drizzle is not used, then the data is resampled using the chosen data interpolation/resampling filter. That filter is responsible for the scaling then as well. The registration parameters are a 3x3 matrix (when optical distortion correction is not used, otherwise more complex) and additional upscaling/downscaling is simply multiplying that matrix.
Please let me know if this is clear.
Mabula
thank you Sir!
As a new user, I am finding the learning journey very satisfying, and my images are coming out a definite step up from my previous ones using other well known software. Really happy with my purchase.
My only ask so far is a clone of the pixinsight muredenoise script, which is applied to the linear image straight after integration, and uses variables measured from flat and bias files, and the algorithm using for registration - all of which app knows! This really works great and is a good first step on the noise reduction ladder.
not withstanding, thanks for making APP available, it really is a great package.
cheers
