Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
This is likely an uncommon use case, but I'm posting it here in case the fix is relatively easy.
Some of us stack our data on powerful machines, then post-process the stacked result on laptops that we can use from a variety of convenient locations. Â Sometimes this is just a convenience, but sometimes it's by necessity -- such as when all your raw data is at an observatory without a fast internet connection. Â In my case I stack on a powerful machine at the observatory and then transfer the integrated result to my laptop instead of transferring 60 GB of raw subs.
Using Mac OS Sonoma 14.0 screen sharing, I have encountered a usability issue when connecting to my Mac OS Sonoma stacking machine running APP: Â The mouse pointer blinks, and sometimes disappears when I stop moving. This makes navigating the APP UI difficult when connecting remotely.
If I switch to another program on the remote Mac, the pointer works fine. Â This seems specific to APP.
If this is not common enough to be fixed, or is outside your control, I understand. Â Just pointing it out.
Hi @mountainair,
That sounds very weird, the mouse pointer is not manipulated in any way by APP code but must be drawing mechanisms of either:
- the operating system
- or our development platform
Maybe there is a bug there somewhere. For now, can you describe how this works on macOS? I have never used screen sharing with mac computers, but I should be able to test this between the different macs that I have. Where can I enable this screen sharing that you do? Do you know of other ways to share your screen?
