Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hello. Im having problems since downloading the latest version. I cant get the image to show in the image viewer. there are now two tabs above the image viewer window that didnt used to be there, but no matter which i select I still get no image.

Im also having issues running out of memory despite having a new 2Tb M.2 installed. I had hoped that would fix the issue.

Please try and simplify any reponses please, as Im rather new to computers.

Thank you-

Ryder

No problem, everyone can ask questions on any level. 🙂

There is a difference between memory and the amount of disk space you have. You're talking about a 2TB M.2 drive, which is disk space. Memory is a fast way to store and retrieve data, but is not permanent, it's used mainly for programs to run in and store data to work on and if required, save that to disk if needed.

Do you know how much memory your computer has? This usually is something like 8, 16 or 32 GB.

@vincent-mod thank you for the reply. I currently have 16gb but I suspect that may be the problem by what I can work out, and what I'm reading. So I have a 64gb upgrade on the way that I'll be installing hopefully tomorrow or the next day depending on delivery times. Would you suggest this should fix my issue?

Thank you again for the reply and explanation 🙂

I would not just buy hardware straight away though. 🙂 16GB should be ok and I think you may have a different issue. Could you check to see what happens if you click on the OpenGL green button? On top of the APP window.

64GB is nice to have though in any case.

@vincent-mod I have upgraded to 64gb and it finishes the stacking without running out of memory, but still no image in the image viewer at the end. Iclicked the open GL green button and it now says CPU in yellow.

FOUND IT!

I've finally found the image.

There is now a 'side bar' to the right that needs to be dragged open like a curtain.

I never had to do that on the older version of APP I was using.

Could you show a screenshot of that? I'm not sure what you are referring to.

@vincent-mod it's not the best image but I've circled in red the 'sliding side bar' that reveals the image.

It's half way open so to speak in the image.

Ah, the console window is rather big. You can also click on those tiny arrows in the side bar to move it out of the way. I think we may have to look at how this works and improve that.
