Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I'm trying to create a mosaic of two images, but during integration I have this error. The two images are created with APP, of course.
Any help appreciated.
Helge

Edit: I just found that despite this error that occurs about 86% into the integration, the mosaic files have been created.

Edit 2: I seem to have been a little hasty with the above edit. The Ha data turned out correct but OIII is a mess. In addition APP claims that it is one color file and one monochrome file, which they are not.
And here is another error msg.

Hi Helge (@heno,

Were you able to solve this issue in the mean time or not?

The 2nd error indicates that you were using a Multi-NB algorithm in 0) Color Settings, right?

And the 2 ste error indicate a problem with normalization indeed, between 1 and 3 channel data.

To me, the errors seem to indicate that APP is still debayering the data of one of your stacks, allthough they should already be debayered.

So I think I cracked it, finally. I'm not sure if it is meant work like this or it's a bug. but is was the same "problem" in both Ha and OIII mosaic.

Under Registration I set the number of stars to 2000. The normalization failed, but I did not get an error message until I pressed integrate. That was the first message above. I noticed that (when working with OIII) the star count for one of the images was 1320. So I changed the stars in Registration to 1200. Bingo!
Same with Ha. Started out with 2000, normalization failed, found that star count was 520, changed number of stars in Registration to 500. Another bingo!
So there it is. If the star number set in registration is higher than the actual star count, normalization fails.
Besides, I'm pretty sure that the star count is wrong, especially for the Ha one. It's packed with stars. I could have counted 500 blindfolded! 🤣
