Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
For some reason, my Light Pollution Removal model is in the wrong bit depth. The gradient changes are not smooth like they normally are.

Hmmmm, 6 months and no reply. I guess no one else has had this issue?

I've never seen this happen in APP. I'm assuming that you have checked the actual bit depth of your lights - you haven't accidentally switched to 8 bit captures ?
I have to ask why you are using such large selection boxes and why they overlap. I always use small, non-overlapping selections. I vaguely remember reading years ago that that is best practice. I may be talking rubbish here but I wonder if using large overlapping boxes has upset the math used to derive the correction model ? I guess if you redo it with small non-overlapping boxes and the problem goes away then you have a likely answer, otherwise I'm stumped. 🤔Â

Hi John @johnbsys and @connor231,
Can you check the bitdepth of the light/integration that you are trying to correct? I have never seen the model like this on 32bits data, so it could be that your data is indeed 8-bits. If it is not, maybe you can upload/share the file that you are trying to correct? Do you see this problem in the latest version 2.0.0-beta38?

@mabula-admin Thanks Mabula. Â I saw that Beta38 is out but I have not downloaded it yet. Â I will check my images bit depths the next time it happens. I am at a star party now for the weekend. Â I will download 38 and try it out.

Thanks,

Great John @johnbsys,
Please let me know if you need more assistance with this and/or if the model looks again like that 😉
