Light Pollution Iss...

Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Would you be able to upload your data? Preferably a subset of the raw data, so like 20 darks, 20 flats, 20 lights, etc.

I think I know what's going on, in the combine tool you need to use the HSO 2 formula, that will mix green and blue better with the OIII signal. I also had to manually tell APP what was H-alpha and what was OIII, it standard showed "Custom".

Neutralize on this didn't look strange, neither did light pollution removal. I used the "Extract-Ha" and "Extract-OIII" settings in tab 0 to load the data. Could you tell me in more detail what your steps are?

Hi

Same issue with RGB combine on my next pic

Did your suggestion and this is the output. I removed APP and reinstalled....I have not made any changes to the set up since it worked correctly

I added the extracted files and told APP what was Ha and what was Oii

The last pic shows Ha Oiii combined using the extracted files.

Is there a reset button for APP.....

" I used the "Extract-Ha" and "Extract-OIII" settings in tab 0 to load the data"  I dont understand what you mean here sorry. I extracted the ha oii in tools and loaded them in RGB combine tool and told app what the files were

Losing faith now

The formulae don't seem correct, do you press the "new formula" button after having selected a new formula? Select HSO-2 and then new formula.

And yes, there is a reset for APP in the CFG menu on the top left. These will reset settings.

Ok...reset APP > Added Ha and told APP its Ha > added oiii and told APP its oiii....selected HSO2 and pressed new formula and recalculate...same...pressed new formula again and recalaucate and the same....

I cant think of anything else now

No problem! Might have been a setting that was wrong somehow perhaps. Glad I could help!
