Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hi Mabula,
I just ran a session of APP beta39 on frames taken with Ha-OIII and SII-OIII filters
and aftrwards wanted to integrate the 2 seperate OIII results to get a master OIII.
APP runs fine doing that but once it is constructing the final image it throws an error
message:
Anything special I should take in account for or might this be a hickup on my PC?
It does generate the resulting integration file on disk so IÂ can continue with my
workflow.
Evenso this is a bit worrying me.
If you find time, please let me know!
Best regards,
Mert
Hi Mert @lammertus,
Thank you very much for posting this error.
The error seems to indicate that a certain image is not there and also that it is still trying to process extract O3 actually. Do you have the Force CFA enabled by any chance while trying to process the 2 OIII masters?
Maybe you can explain the workflow in more detail step-by-step with the settings of 0) Color settings?
Then I can find this problem and hopefully fix it.
Mabula
Hi Mabula, thanks a lot for getting back to me!
Likely it is a user error because I have these settings in tab 0:
So I am afraid I tried to integrate the 2 OIII images with this setting and should have changed it to
adaptive airy disk for the 2 OIII master integrations.
Will try again when I get home and let you know!
Best regards,
Mert
Hi Good evening Mabula,
I just tried again loading the 2 OIII integration files of both filters changing
the algorithm to Adaptive Airy disk and all works flawless!
Sorry for my mistake, the error was caused by user error not by APP!!
Best regards,
Mert
