Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

[Solved] Black pixel on Dual-Band image after running Ha-OIII Extract OIII but not on Extract Ha

I'm seeing an issue with some recently taken Dual Band Ha-OIII images on a OSC camera (ASI183MC with a SVBONY SV220 dual band filter). Telescope is a ED102.

When I Extract Ha I get a good even image, with no odd black pixels, but when I run Extract OIII I get black pixels around stars, and what looks like clipping or some sort of other halo around bright stars. The histogram also looks a bit odd for the Extract OIII compared to Extract Ha.

These black pixels do not line up with any features on any of the raw frames, or any of the calibration frames (bias, dark, flat, flatdark), and I can't think of where they are coming from.

I use the same settings for both Extract HA and Extract OIII.

I don't see any issues on my RGB images from the same camera.

I can post raw and calibration FITS and other files as needed.

thanks

Andy

To rule out a Java/linux issues I'll try taking the same data set and running Extract OIII on a Windows PC.

Edit: Confirmed the same issue taking the FITS data set and running on a clean installation of APP on a new machine (MacOS). So it's not my settings or my OS/java config.

Confirmed the issue was resolved with new dark frames.
