Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I just wanted to let you know that the latest beta 38 is not launching at all on my PC after installation.Â
Tried to install/reinstall it multiple times, restarting the PC, lanching it via administrator and directly without the shortcut.
All the other versions open right away.
Im running Windows 11 Version 24H2 with a ryzen 7 5800x
Not sure if I'm the only one so I wanted to let you know and for now I will just keep using the beta34 version because the other versions give me this error message every other image that I want to edit/stack "the solution contains uncountable numbers" <--- thats from the registration tab and happens when it tries to start the DDC when I do a mosaic.

I do encounter the same problem.
Beta 38 does not start at all.
Running Windows 11 Version 24H2 with a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H 2.60 GHz.

Please completely remove the old APP version first and then install beta38, we have received several reports that if you install beta38 over an older version on Windows, it will not start. A fresh install will definitely work. The reason is that in beta37 actually we made a very big code change layout, we made it 100% modular in the java sense and this requires different arguments to start APP and also different packaging to create the installers. Somehow when you install over an older version something goes not right... so clean up the old APP version and then simply do a fresh install and all should be fine.

I know this bug could happen when you use the calibrated projective model, and I have solved 5 other registration bugs as well for mosaics these days, so beta39 will have these improvements for sure.
