Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hello hello everyone,

it would be boring, if there would be no issues or something else with this camera, especially with calibration etc.

A few session go it was everything fine, but now it cames back it seems.

I do everything exactly the same in every single session, also calibration frames. The only thing that changed was that I updated my AsiAir Pro a few days ago. Nothing other changed.

I do every Session at the end flats and dark flats with the same temperature and gain, the flats and darkflats also with the same exposure time and same gain and temperature as my lights.

My AisAir is runnign with the ZWO 12V adapter over my power tank and the 294 mc pro is running at the 12v output at the AsiAir.

Since two sessions/nights at M31 Narrowband I i have some calibration issues. The ampglow in thr right upper corner didn´t calibrate out fully, also the amglow in the lower right corner.

Like i said, I have do ALL things like every other session in the past and there was no such a issue.

What´s wrong here? I stack it in DSS, APP and AsiDeepStack but its the same issue in all this stacking programs.

I do last night test-based three flat sessions with 28k avg, 30k avg and 32k avg but the issue is the same.

Is it maybe the dark flats oder darks? Because of the banding?

In my 300 seconds light exposure in the asiair in preview is no banding.

Hope anybody can help me.

Best regards

Tobias

second night 30k avg

Hi Tobias, when I look at the histogram of the Masterdark and Dark Flat, I would say that the Dark Flat has an extremely high average value. That looks like a light leak.
Which then messes up the calibration and leaves amp glow residue in the image.

Regards.

@minusman Hm, you are right.... and at the bottom of the Masterdarkflat it looks like a bright stripe. Curious....

Maybe it was my head torch. When I let capture the darkflats I dismantle all the things that I don't use any longer and for this I turn on the head troch with the white and bright light....

ISSUE SOLVED

Guys, I made it. The ampglow now is completely gone. 🙏🥳

You all was right about the darks. The darks were he issue all the time.
And now I know about what you guys mean with the same temperature as the lights. The ambient tmperature. Thought alle the time -10° is -10° and works for all frames. But then I took my camera out to a clear night and put it on my scope and shoot the darks as close as possible at the ambient temperature as my lights from IC 1805.....and here it is, it was the key and works 100%!

Sorry for all the posts I put in here with my issue and sorry to annoy you all with that.

Cheers and Clear Skies!
