Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I purchased and installed the latest version of Pixel processor and for some reason now I can't see any
file types when I select a working directory!? I'm on a mac and on Catalina version 10.15.7.Â
I tried installing and software a few times with no luck! Any help on this would be most appreciated.
@gofer That is very strange. Can you show us a directory listing of that directory?
@wvreeven I attached a screenshot of what's in the directory but even if I go to my other old directories or jpegs, tiff or fits nothing shows up! I don't know if mac OS has updated something causing the issue!!!?
Many thanks
Gunter

@gofer Did you give APP permission to access the Volume? You can do this in the System Preferences of your Mac.
On a different topic, is the disk mounted on that Volume an SSD? If no then please choose a working directory on the hard disk of your Mac since processing on an external HD may fail due to I/O issues.
@wvreeven I think I have solved the issue, the first thing that it opened was the working directory and because I couldn't see any files I thought something was wrong. I had to click on the lights then the file types showed up! So all good and sorry to have troubled you all.
@gofer I see! Yes, now that I read your first message again I admit I misunderstood what you wrote. Glad you sorted it out and sorry for the confusion on my side!
@wvreeven I guess if anything that has come out of it others can have a read of it if something similar is encountered. Otherwise, I now managed to process my very short session imaging M42 before the freezing fog rolled in!
Thank youÂ
Gunter
