installing APP on M...

Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

@cooperwalls have you tried a "right-click" on the Installer and then select "Open..." Any unsigned app, including installers, can only be loaded onto an M1 Mac using Monterey in this way.

If you ever get that message, the next step should be to "right-click>Open..." that will allow you to end-run around the Mac security protocol.

I'd suggest the new beta version. 😉 This should pass without any extra settings to set.

Hello, I tried to install the newest beta on my Apple Mi Pro running MAC OS 13.1 Beta (22C5050e), and was unsuccessful. When I installed it, all I see when APP loaded is the AstroPixelProcessor "splash" text in the upper left corner of my home screen. If I click on the text I don't get any dropdown functions.  To be clear,  I don't have any of the GUI interface showing up. When I check to see if APP is running by hitting Option Command Escape I see that the program is running. So, I deleted the beta and wanted to go back to the last stable version. I downloaded the last stable version 1.083.2 MacOS 64bits and the same thing now happens.  I don't have any of the GUI panels when the program loads.  Any suggestions?  I'm thinking that somehow I have to completely delete APP and not just drag it to the trash but I don't know how to do that.

Thanks for your help

Walter
