15th Feb 2024: Astro Pixel Processor 2.0.0-beta29 released - macOS native File Chooser, macOS CMD-Q fixed, read-only Fits on network fixed and other bug fixes
7th December 2023: added payment option Alipay to purchase Astro Pixel Processor from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and other countries where Alipay is used.
Three nights ago I spent 2.5 hours on the object Pleiades. Image processing is simple and beautiful as usual with APP. Uneven background in the left side of image is probably due to moonlight or bad flats (master flats were created month ago). I used Photoshop Lightroom and Nik software for noise reduction and fine tune contrast in the final image.
Gears: QHY294m, Optolong LRGB filters, William-Optics RedCat, iOptron CEM25P
Acquisition: L=2minx40, R=2minx15, G=2minx15, B=2minx15
Lovely result, no mixing of long and short exposures? Or is the sensor so amazingly good at dynamic range? 🙂
Interesting that you used Nik (Dfine) for noise reduction. Completely forgot the option myself. Thanks for the reminder. Needless to say: I like the result.
No, I did not use HDR technique with this image. I just combined RGB without L first, and added L later. In addition, the camera sensor is much better than my previous 163m.
This is not my standard workflow for noise reduction. The result of Define2 is somewhat similar to TGV noise reduction in PI, but a bit softening details of the image.
