Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello. I finally got a stacked image from APP! But, I don't understand how to polish it. The attached image is IC1805, 20 300sec exp at 0 gain with an ASI2600MC via an 80ED. Specifically, the star calibration didn't help my stars colors (maybe it doesn't do that?) and the overall red-hue is more than the nebulosity. Any tips? Thank you for your time.
The "overall red hue" seems fine to me - this region is actually all over with faint ha emissions...
Your stars are that bloated because they seem to be saturated (they ar full white in the middle and have big halos), dont know your camera setting - but i got a imx571 osc too and 300s does saturate bright stars even in low gain mode.
your blue channel seems to bloat more, this can be your scope optics or (is your camera with uv/ir filter?) you could use a tigher uv/ir cut filter. Maybe you had some misty air this can bloat to.
Could be many more reasons, first i simply would use some shorter exposure time, thats the main issue...

Hi Tyler,
I agree with Sebastian, the region is actually full with H-alpha signal, so it is actually good that it is revealed by your data.
Did you expose 300seconds without any filter? Or did you use a light pollution filter perhaps?
The Star Color Calibration tool should actually give you accurate star colors. Maybe Sebastian has a good point, the stars might be too saturated. Solution can be to expose shorter for your next object, or when you use the Star Color Calibration tool, try to select areas with a star population that is not clearly affected by the H-alpha nebulosity and that contains no or little bright and saturated stars. Then the result should be good.
