Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and itĀ  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Mabula,

Ā

is there a way to reset the sliders on the right side to their original setting? sometimes i grab the wrong slider (the one below the text...) and then i screw up my settings. Or do you have to reload theĀ file then?

thanks!

Hi Michel,

Yes, there is, there are several options,

  • disable and then enable auto DPP using the "auto" selectbox
  • or choose a new auto DPP preset and then the old one again.

In both options the image doesn't need to be reloaded, probably the first option is the easiest ?

Cheers,

Mabula

Ā

I set all the sliders to one side as a test, then disabled and enabled the DPP and Auto boxed.Ā  I see no difference, in other words I don't see the sliders reset at all.

I just started using the trial version and would like to get the program reset before I attempt another processing session.

Ā

Thanks.

If you changed saturation or something, that isn't reset, the stretch slider can be reset with the reset button, and switching profiles. Restarting APP would be fastest I think if you don't remember what slider you changed.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the suggestions above are incomplete:

  • disable and then enable auto DPP using the "auto" selectbox
  • or choose a new auto DPP preset and then the old one again.

These actions only reset the ST and BA sliders.Ā  The sliders below them (HA, Con, Sharp, etc.) stay where they are.Ā  Is there any way to reset them to their default values without restarting APP?

Also, what is the "Reset" button (in the panel with the B/W/G sliders) intended to do?Ā  I don't see that it actually resets any of those sliders.

Thanks

Unfortunately not, the reset is just for 1 setting basically at the moment.

Thanks Vincent, I'll stop searching then!Ā  😀Ā

Forgive my ignorance in asking this, but is there a forum section specifically for proposing enhancements for consideration?

Yes, here's the section; https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/rfcs-request-for-changes/

However, we will always let Mabula know about changes that may be very interesting to put onto his todo-list. The UI in your case is 1 of the changes considered.
