Apr 9 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 24 hours !

It has a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration, for mosaics even faster! We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. Improved Outlier Rejection with LN 2.0 rejection. macOS CMD+A works now in file chooser ! And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming hours...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

What kind of tiff files are you trying? Did you process them in any way etc?

I've given him the file and hopefully we can get this to work in the next version as well. Thanks for uploading!

We're going to try at make it work in an updated version. You do need to have tiff files? Your camera doesn't generate fits?

This problem has been around for a while. I was involved in a thread about it last year, was told it might be in an update, but latest version still does the same thing. Any tif generated from Sequator won't load in APP at all. But if you open that same tif file with Gimp, click File > Overwrite, then it will open just fine with absolutely no changes except the program that is creating the file. There is something about how Sequator makes tifs that APP can't handle.

Yep, Mabula has been focused on getting 1.083 out with a lot of new things. We're now moving to Java 17, I've notified Mabula about sequator again just in case, but I'm not sure myself in which version that's addressed.

Hi All @wrekirsch, @vincent-mod, @nickoson-2

This issue is fixed now. We can now read Sequator Tiff files. Sequator does something not completely right with creating the EXIF IFD which caused APP to fail. We have implemented a work-around so we can process the data and read all metadata now.

Fix will be part of the next beta release which will be there pretty soon now...

Mabula
