Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

After applying the 1*3 mosaic effect using the app software, blotches appear in the corners. May I ask why this is happening?

After applying the 1*3 mosaic effect using the app software, blotches appear in the corners. I would like to inquire why this is happening. There are no blotches within a single frame, and the location where the blotches appear is not in the overlaid areas. How can this issue be resolved?

Hi @pao5qq-com,

Welcome to the Astro Pixel Processor forum, please accept my apologies for the delay in my response.

What exactly do you mean with 1*3 mosaic effect? Do you mean that you are creating a 1x3 mosaic? So a mosaic if 3 panels horizontally or vertically perhaps?

How did you make the mosaic? Did you load all frames of all mosaic panels and directly created the mosaic? Or did you first make 3 mosaic panels by integrating the light frames per panel first to a separate stack?

Those blotches, are probably caused by the automatic integration setting in 6) integrate combined with your workflow, so if you can tell how you processed this, I can point you to a better workflow 😉

Yes, it is a mosaic formed by vertically arranging three panels. I synthesized three light frames in PIXINSIGHT. Here are my settings, as shown in the image.

This is a single bright frame without synthesis.

The surrounding is very clean

Hi @pao5qq-com,

Sorry to have kept you waiting.

I do not understand what you did in Pixinsight at the moment, these images seem to show blotches due to star removal of some sort?

The 3 synthesized images do contain stars or not? Why do I not see stars in these screenshots? APP needs stars to be able to calculate the mosaic correctly. Maybe you can show 3 screenshots, 1 of each light frame that you want to combined into the 1:3 mosaic?

When using Astro Pixel to overlay images, the stars are all present in the pictures. Removing the stars is just for the convenience of viewing.
