Hi all,

maybe it is a simple question and already answered, but I didn't found it in the forum.

I have gathered data for my M104 picture over two years now, yesterday I finished my 4th session since 2021. I created a stacked image for every session and created images were I loaded all of the lights, flats, darks and darkflats for all of the sessions so far.

My question: what is the best way to stack the sessions? Stacking the session stacks or begin after each session from the beginning and load all the subs?

In principle, when each of your stacks consist of at least 40 or more subs, those can be combined to give a nice result. Personally I may go for something like 100 frames per stack and then combine those for the final result.

Hi Vincent,

thank you for your reply 🙂 Ok, so since I have less than 40 images per session I will stack the single lights.

regards

If in total you have like 300 subs, you may still want to go for 100 per stack, just to go easy on the system. 😉
