2023-04-17: APP 2.0.0-beta17 has been released !
RAW support for camera color matrix with Bayer Drizzle integration, fixed couple of image viewer issues.
We are very close now to releasing APP 2.0.0 stable with a complete printable manual...
Astro Pixel Processor Windows 64-bit
Astro Pixel Processor macOS Intel 64-bit
Astro Pixel Processor macOS Apple M Silicon 64-bit
Astro Pixel Processor Linux DEB 64-bit
Astro Pixel Processor Linux RPM 64-bit
Completed a 2 panel mosaic but the image viewer freezes when APP tries to load the mosaic upon completion. It just hangs at the very beginning of the progress bar. Is there a limit to the file size for the viewer? I've attached the problem file.
This loads fine in Pixinsight. Using M1 Max 64GB and 2.0.0-beta1
Edit by Mabula: fixed in 2.0.0-beta2, image is larger than OpenGL's maximum texture size, and APP fails to load it with the CPU image viewer in 2.0.0-beta1.
Hmmm... Now I can't upload my fits file that shows this problem. It's 480.3 MB so I think it should upload.
@rixon Where are you trying to upload the FITS file to? To our file server? Note that you cannot use your forum username and password for that. You need to use upload for both.
Okay, I've uploaded the file. Note to others: you do this at https://upload.astropixelprocessor.com/ Thanks.
@rixon Thanks for the note to others. The upload instructions are at the top of every forum page.
I had a look at your image and can reproduce your problem. I'll discuss it with Mabula.
Thank you for reporting the issue. I have tested it myself but the image loads fine in both 1.083 and the 2.0.0-beta1 on my main computer (Windows 10). I will test now on other computers (especially macOS) to see if I can duplicate the issue... What are you both seeing in the Console output when you try to load the image in the image viewer?
The image is not too big, so memory should not be the issue at least.

On my mac mini M1 with 2.0.0-beta1 it is also is not working... and I see why. My mac mini M1 only has maximum texture size of 16384 pixels and the image is larger than that (horizontal dimensions are larger). So it needs to be loaded with the CPU image viewer instead of the OpenGL image viewer. APP should do this automatically but it does not, so it is a definite bug.
And I am glad to say that it is fixed already in 2.0.0-beta2 which will be there soon 😉
Thank you for reporting !
