Hi, for some reason I am now getting double stars with comet registration where that did not happen in earlier beta versions such as late as Beta 9. It happens on all color channels.

Woops, I'll forward that to Mabula. Can you share some frames for us to test?

So using the latest beta you can now select to reduce noise/cosmic rays in tab 3 (analyze stars) and set it to 10 pixels for instance, does that work? It's very new so I forgot about that. I may be that it was registering on noise perhaps.

Hi @imnewhere,

I just tested your uploaded data in 2.0.0-beta12 en all works perfectly fine if you register normally, that means only on the stars. So this means that the star registration before registering on the comet works as expected.

Once you do the comet registration, normally, you will get long star stripes if you shot many images of the comet in 1-2 hours time because you will track the comet. Now if i look at the time of exposures I see the following:

TimeShot metadata

So the first and last image per filter are 40 mintues apart, so the comet has moved exactly as much as you see the star separation or double stars as you indicate. This is not a bug, but normal behaviour. APP does not yet produce comet stacking with both sharp comet en stars out of the box 😉
