Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I just renewed my yearly license for APP and decided to upload my 2 most recent images for display, as well as for any feedback on how can I further improve my images. The Eagle Nebula is from 2 weeks ago and M13 is from last night. Both images are 1 evening integrations of about 6 hours each.

Are you using narrowband data? If RGB, you could still do some color correction and such.

Hi Jonathan @minroadkill, great results, thanks for sharing !

The globular cluster is LRGB I see, we should definitely be able to get better star colors in there 😉

Did you try the Star Color Calibration Tool?

@mabula-admin I should have mentioned I was going for an "artsy" look on that pic. I use the color correction, but I am not certain that I use it correctly. I raise the red so that only about 10-20% of stars fall into the blue side and and then adjust the diagonal line to try and stay centered in the stars on the graph. I am not at home so not sure on the proper naming.
