May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I'm curious about this too... I'm trying to use a .tif from Sequator but it won't load into APP. All I want to do is see if I can process it and see what the differences are. I had the tif from Sequator processed in PI by a random internet guy and I think it was pulling more detail than what I'm getting with the full stacking etc processes within APP. But I can't confirm for sure unless I can process that same .tif in APP to see what the deal is.

Hi Trevor and Jeremy,

It is hard to know what could be wrong without knowing more details, for example how you exactly try to load the TIFF files. There are several ways to do this in APP. One way is in tab 1 by selecting Other/Processed all the way at the top of the tab. Another way is in Tab 9. There many of the tools ask to load a file when you open them. Could you give us more details where loading of the TIFF files doesn't do what you expect?

Thanks, Wouter

Well, it just won't load it anywhere. This is all the info I can get you. Then after it fails, it leaves this "Please wait" window that I can't close until I exit the whole application.

"Encountered error in module:
ImageLoaderTask

Error message:
java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: pos < flushedPos!

Cause:
pos < flushedPos!
javax.imageio.stream.FileImageInputStream.seek(FileImageInputStream.java:143)
nq.a(Unknown Source)
ns.seek(Unknown Source)
ni.<init>(Unknown Source)"

OK, I'll need to have a look at the data then to be able to help better. Please upload some of the relevant subs to our server. Go to https://upload.astropixelprocessor.com and use upload3 as username and upload3 as password.

Create a directory named "jeremy-nickoson-tiffissue" and upload in there. Thank you.

Done, though it happens with any tif I get from Sequator, so it should be fairly easy to replicate.

Thanks for the upload Jeremy. Indeed it looks like APP has trouble loading it. I have asked @mabula-admin to have a look at it. He has indicated that he will see if he can fix this for a future version of APP.

In the mean time I was able to load your Andromeda picture by opening the image in Gimp and simply saving it again. I'd recommend to use a similar workaround until the issue is fixed in APP.

I am having the same issue - cannot see any files in the working directory.  I've been using the app steadily for a while, but now cannot load files

@wvreeven By the way, I was just messing around with some stuff today and guess what I couldn't do, import a tif from Sequator in any way. Same error. Which is funny cause I was googling to see if there was anyone else and I found this old thread.

I'm currently loading the files through Gimp and will resave to see if that gets around the error this time too, just wanted to make it known that its still happening. Do we know if there was ever confirmation on if this was addressed?

@nickoson-2 Can you please upload the TIFF file to a new directory called nickoson-2-tiff-error on

https://upload.astropixelprocessor.com/

using upload for both username and password (your APP credentials will not work)? Then we can have a look at it and see if we can fix this. Thanks!

@wvreeven Since its the same issue as before, couldn't you just generate a file with Sequator yourself and then try that? I wasn't the only one experiencing this issue.

@nickoson-2 Honestly, I don't see why you cannot simply upload the image. We asked the previous users to upload an image as well and ao far nobody has done that. So please do so and help us improve our product.

File has been uploaded, though might want to go ahead and install Sequator so you can test it in the future?

Thanks a lot.

We can't do that. It would mean having to install all imaging software which we simply cannot do. We have been working by requesting problematic files from our users which has proved to work very well.
