I changed the processor on my desktop from an i7 5820k to a Xeon e5-2699 v3 with no other hardware changes and now it is asking for my license info like it is a new computer. I wanted to know if this is going to count against my 3 licenses as an owner. It is the same computer, with the same hardware other than processor, and everything else sees the computer as exactly the same. The reason I ask is down the road I plan on building a monster processing machine and if this uses up one of my licenses by changing the processor I am out of them since I have APP on my laptop too.

Ah yes, APP uses the processor as a way to identify unique computers. However, Mabula already noticed more people have similar experience like you report so the next versions (like the beta of 1.076) use memory as a measure. If something goes wrong on your licence because of this, Mabula will fix it if you send him an email, no problem.

@imnewhere & @vincent-mod,

As stated on the product description:

https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/product/astro-pixel-processor-owner-license/

Any license (Trial, Renter, Owner) can be activated and used at any time on 3 separate computers, independent of Operating System. You can de-activate, activated computers from within the application.

So you can always use your license on 3 separate computers at the same time 😉 And you will never loose your 3 activations, since you can always de-activate a computer if the computer is being replaced or like in your case, the computer configuration changes.

Our license server has been modified recently as well, so license activations in APP 1.076 beta3 and later will no longer use the number of cpu threads for identification (besides the operating system and OS username) but it will use the amount of RAM in the computer. Reason being that some netbooks dynamically change the number of available cpu threads so we needed to chance this.

Kind regards,

Mabula

I purchased APP and every time it checks for the license on the server.  How can I disable checking because I do not always have the Internet

@dsalman1 This cannot be disabled. APP always tries to check the license server. If you don't have an internet connection, it should start up anyway.
