Hello!

Today I was stacking different focal lengths (250mm with Canon 60D and 510mm with 294MC Pro)

I selected disabled „same camera and optics“ and used the parameters once posted already in the forum.

I set the wider field of view as a reference frame and the stacked worked just perfect, that‘s awesome.

Problem is, that the noise in my wider field of view image is way higher than in the one where the cooled astro camera was used. (See Photo attached)

So what I would like to make now is another integration with the longer focal length set as a reference.

I tried this with using „crop“ in the Register Tool, but the problem is that the image resolultion is the same (same bad) as in the integration with the wider field of view.

My question is how can I set the longer focal length as a reference without losing resolution in the finished stack?
I don‘t know how to set the longer focal length as a reference without the „crop“ function and without losing resolution in the stacked image.

Thank you for your help in advance! 🙂

Clear Skies,

Chris

No solution? 🙁

I tried yesterday with integration mode „reference“ and I set the longer focal length as a reference frame and I also tried it with „crop“ and I cropped a bit of longer focal length away and hoped that the stack will be done from this crop, but it always used some kind of the wide angle shot as reference in the final stack...I can‘t really figure out how to get the high resolution picture with the longer focal length as a reference.
