I’ve been combing OSC color images taken over the last year with new Ha data. I’ve done this  by integrating my OSC color frames and then correcting LP and saving as a Fit file. Then I take my Ha integration, correct for LP and then registering the color and Ha files together and integrating them. My results seem fine, but I would appreciate it if someone would validate this as the correct procedure or if there is a better method. I assume there is no way to use the combine tool for this?

The combine tool is there to do just that, combining what you have as data. So indeed it's best to supply it with nicely corrected data like you do now.

I am missing something here. Again, I have a color OSC fits and Ha and OIII extracts. When I go to the combine tool and add my color fits, it ask me to identify channels 1, 2 and 3 which I identify as R, G and B. Then I add the Ha extract and label it Ha and then the OIII extract and label it OIII. However, when I hit calculate I get the error message telling me the images aren't compatible, please make sure the dimensions and bit depth are the same. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I haven't cropped anything yet and I've registered the images together.

Any ideas? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

Did you register them against each other?

Yes, I registered them with each other. I'm sure it is something I am doing. I'll keep looking.

If you still experience trouble with these frames, you can upload them to our server and I'll have a look. APP-serverwith login/password: appuser and please create a new folder with your name on it. Thanks!

Thanks Vincent. I finally figured out the workflow. I was registering the frames, but failed to normalize them before entering them into the RGB combine tool. I've now tried about every possible combination of extracting and combining frames. APP is a great platform for extracting and combining frames for OSCs.

I appreciate your help and the followup.

Randy
