APP 1.075 has been released !
2019 November: Complete LRGB Tutorial of NGC292, The Small Magellanic Cloud by Christian Sasse, Astronomer in Charge of iTelescope.net
2019 September: Astro Pixel Processor and iTelescope.net celebrate a new Partnership!
I know this has been requested before but hopefully you can consider.
It would really be great to be able to save a project with all files listed in the file browser as well as the working directory and settings for the specific project. I often work on many session including various calibration sets and various filters etc. It takes a lot of time and some concentration to make sure all is allocated to the right sessions/filters etc. Two weeks later there is a new version of APP (Thank you for the great work) or I discover a new setting etc and I would like to try it out on a previous set of data. The process of loading many hundreds of files correctly again to try the new setting or creating new or better calibration files etc is would be so much easier of there were projects that we could just load, change the settings and rerun the integration.
Please consider?
I would really like this as I do a lot of multi-filter, multi session processing and as someone above mentions, it takes a great deal of concentration and time to load files correctly.
Even just saving the Loaded Files would be a massive benefit - perhaps a good Phase 1 (Quick Win) of the Save Project change?
On the same subject, it would be great if a report could be generated after loading files that would facilitate checking that the correct files had loaded.
Checking is also hampered by there being no way (that I can find) to sort the file list on "Frame" - could this be added? I frequently find that, for example, the file list shows my Green lights with Reds in the middle. If I could sort by Filter and Session I coul dat least get them all together for checking.
Thanks
Jon
I ve already bought an owner's license, but I, too, miss that feature.
But I also see that there are many other features being worked: GPU-support, more postprocessing tools (masks, sharpening, denoise), to name just a few most relevant to me.
So I am happily looking forward to APP 2.0 😊

Personally I bought a renters license because I want to keep supporting Mabula on an ongoing basis. I don't use multi-session because I calibrate after every imaging session and then integrate the calibrated frames when I'm done.
Mabula is just one person and what he has accomplished so far is pretty amazing - I think he has built the best pre-processing engine available.
That said, I'll bet all of his users have different priorities on what he should be working on next. It would save me time every time I pre-process to have some kind of project capability like this, so I'd still like to see it.
Personally I'd like to see Mabula's attention turned away from the pre-processing phase for a few months - it feels like we might be reaching the point of diminishing returns there. But just my opinion - and mostly because I'd love to see how he tackles the post-processing phase and some of the quality-of-life things like projects. Today I use APP through integration, cropping, light pollution removal, and RGB combination. I then take my masters over to PI to finish. It would be great to be able to stay with APP through the whole process, especially if Mabula could do that phase as nicely as he has pre-processing.
Cheers,
Rowland
