Hi Mabula,

I made a mistake loading calibration frames this morning because my file names were similar and I loaded the wrong Dark Flats. I also find that I frequently want to rerun Calibration/Stacking with different parameters and loading up all the data, particularly with multi-filter/multi-sessions, is time consuming and prone to error.

I really like the new 1.061 features, and this is probably a "nice to have", but it occurred to me that it would be really nice if I could identify all the files that needed to be loaded in a table, using the names of the folders containing the files, and then load this into APP and have APP go find the files and load them for me.

I have drafted a table below to try and explain what I have in mind - this could be saved as a .csv file for loading into APP

APP LOAD Configuration

So, APP would have an additional option to upload this "configuration file", rather than individual Lights and Calibration files, and would automatically upload all files in each specified folder, and assign the supplied meta-data for filters and channels.

I don't know how difficult it would be to do, I am assuming it could be done as a bolt-on to the existing code as an additional input method. If it's doable it would reduce the risk of errors loading files and also allow reloading to be done in a few seconds.

See what you think.

Thanks

Hi Jon @midnight_lightning,

Excellent idea, basically, we need a project load/save function for this, which is on my ToDo list.

The project load/save function will enable you to only load the files once, and then save it like project: m27-start for instance. Than on a next run you can always load the project status from which you want to redo a step.

Does this sound to you like it would be a solution to your proposal?

+1 for the Project feature!   I think this would be an excellent quality of life enhancement for APP.  I agree with the OP that loading everything up for a large multi-channel / multi-session process takes a while and it would be very helpful to save that so it could be reused.

Hi Rowland @rowland-f-archer-jr,

Thank tou for your feedback on this 😉

Yes, for large datasets this should really ease the processing task for the user, I fully agree.

I'll work on it soon.
