May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I have a constant problem here with saving images. I think. I go through all the processing steps and wind up with a very nice image in the program preview frame. Then save to fits, image saves but no or extremely low color, save to tiff, jpg and get totally black screen. This has been on every image I have tried in every version of the software. What could I be doing incorrectly? What I have resorted to is a screen capture and saving that, but that is pretty bad at best. I have seen no other posts about this so I suppose I'm doing something wrong. I did have one that saved to fit nicely, converted that to jpg then edited that to lower black level. But cannot see anything I did differently.

When you save an image make sure you have stretch checked, make sure you have saturation checked, and make sure you have one is the auto-stretches selected. You will then get a popup when you hit save trying to default to a 16 bit tif (which is perfect for final touch up in Photoshop) or the ability to save it as a fits, png, or jpeg as well.

Thanks for that. An explanation of what all the controls are would be great but haven't found one. And I have very little use for video tutorials, they take way too long. So, I reset everything to default and once again processed my images of NGC7635 taken on iTelescope's T14. Get a great image in the screen and saving to FITS works fine saved image is fine but saving to any other format, tiff, jpeg, png results in almost totally black image with a few stars. I equate it to (in the video business) of black level too low, clipped. That's really the issue. I have always used stretch and saturation on. So the real issue I have is saving to anything but fits being black screen.

UPDATE. I may have gotten this jpeg save to work properly. Whenever I was tapping the right hand "save" nothing at all would happen. Mouse over said "save current image", etc but nothing at all took place. Well, for grins I adjusted the "W" slider a bit. Suddenly it all works, if I tap right hand save I get a dialog asking for file type, name, etc and the top progress bar moves left to right. Something not right in "W" default setting??

While having the image loaded and hitting the "save" button on the right hand side I have always gotten that dialog box on Windows 10 pro and Windows 11 pro. What OS are you using?
