Hello App forum members, have recently purchased the app and am working on the software. Now with e standard values I have done a test of Barnard 33, the horse head nebula. what strikes me is that strange artefacts occur in the stack. They are not in the separate subs. Somebody has an idea about this? Maybe settings are wrong? hope that you can provide me with clarity, greeting Ronn

Hi Stardust @ronn 😉
These are definitely hotpixels and they can easily be removed with a Bad Pixel Map. Have you created one in 2) Calibrate?
If so, try creating one with a slighly lower Hot pixels kappa value. By default the setting is 3, so lower it to 2.0-2.5 and check if the result is better.
2 other methods for removing the bad pixels can be found in 6) integrate:
- integrate with median if you have less than 20 frames
- integrate with average if you have more than 20 frames, but enable a outlier rejection filter like sigma clip, this should take care of the hot pixels.
Let me know if this helps or if you need more assistance.
Kind regards,
Mabula
Hi Ronn,
Thanks for going here! 🙂 Yes, these are hot pixels and they should be in the seperate subs as well. Maybe have a pixelpeep look at them at 100%. It looks like you dithered the data in 1 direction, if so, that's why you see them moving like this.
thnx for the support Mabula and Vincent.
i think problem solved. 😎
