Just down loaded trial licence version. No support for Olympus Raw files. Software no use to me at the moment, dont want to convert files to tiff to be able to use. Any plans for supporting more file types ?. Will it be possible to have another trial licence if support for Olympus raw added ? . Returning to DSS.

Yes, formats will be supported in the near future. Mabula is trying to find a solution to get it supported faster, it does require some time though. I would try to convert it first though and see what APP can do as it does a way better job at calibration and such compared to DSS. And I'm sure you can get another trial when it's implemented.

Have converted some olympus raw files to tiff with adobe bridge. All goes well untill the integration step, when I get out of memory error. There are 32 subs each of 45Mb. The computer has 16Gb Ram and a 1Tb SSD drive. APP configured to use 14Gb Ram. Any suggestions.

Hi @alexgray,

Yes, I am working to support more Raw types and no problem, just contact me when they are supported and I will be happy to give you a new Trial.

Kind regards,

Mabula

Hi @alexgray,

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Are you trying a normal integration of some frames? Not a mosaic with a big field of view?

If it is a normal integration, then APP should be able to process this with much less memory. (probably only 2-4 GB would be enough)

Can you share more details so we know what is happening exactly ?

  • pixel dimensions of the frames?
  • which optics were used? Which focal length ?
  • did you enable LNC in 6) (a high degree can consume quite a bit of memory)
  • what kind of registration RMS do you see in the bottom frame list panel?

Kind regards,

Mabula

Hello Mabula,

thanks for the prompt reply. I dont know what I did to cause the problems but went back throught the process again and It worked this time. As you say only 3-4 Gb ram used. Still not happy with the results but this is very probably operator error or sub par subs. Will presevere

Hi,

I have the same problem with lack of support for Olympus raw, having just downloaded the trial licence. Do you have plans to provide support anytime soon?

Regards, Pieter

Hi Petrus, Yes Mabula will support more camera's natively in future releases. What problem are you running into? It should be possible to convert them using the Adobe DNG converter.

Hi Vincent,

Thanks, I will convert a set using the Adobe DNG converter and experiment with my processing.
