Hi all, I have two images completely processed in APP, the top and bottom sections of the Veil Nebula. Can I just load these two images in APP to make a mosaic?
regards Dave
In theory yes, depending on the amount of overlap they have. Recommended is at least something like 10%. You also need to set a few different settings.
Thanks Vincent, I'll give it a try
Dave
Would the the other alternative be to load all the lights from both sessions all at once?
Yes, depending on the amount of subs, if they go above 100 or so it might tax your system a bit much and then it becomes better to first prepare seperate panels like you did already. Make sure the overlap is good and set APP to advanced mode and mosaic mode. Turn LNC on as well.
Many thanks for your speedy reply Vincent.
It would be over the 100, so I'll try with the separate panels.
Dave
Let me know if it works out. 🙂
Hi Vincent,
The image was made over 4 sessions/evenings, 2 using the Optolong L-eNhance filter and 2 with just the IDAS LPS P2 filter. The lights from each session were processed separately, which resulted in 4 processed images, 2 RGB and 2 extracted Ha-OIII.
I first loaded the two completed RGB panels, top and bottom, and let APP make the mosaic.
I then loaded the two completed Ha-OIII panels, which were extracted using APP, and let APP make a mosaic of these.
I then took the 2 finished mosaic's into photoshop and did an HaRGB combine.
Hope this helps others!
Dave
Well that looks amazing! I still remember the days when making mosaics was daaaays of manual labour. 😉
Thanks Vincent, it's amazing wat Mabula has put together in APP!.
Great image, and thanks for that info. I have been wondering how to do that. 🙃
