Hi @Mabula, am I reading correct that should I download the new version theres a few issues with calibration when using masters done on an older version? So I would need to create new masters on the new version?

Hi Tony,

APP 1.061 has a completely new calibration engine. Especially the assigned of Masterframes is much smarter now and less restrictive as it used to be.

Yes, If you have MasterDarks that have the MasterBias already subtracted, you should recreate those, because those are not as good as they can be. They are probably clipped on the black point and are missing some vital calibration data.

I also fixed a problem in flat-field calibration, if you still have the original flats, recreate the masterflats as well to be sure they work optimally without problems.

Your old masterbias and BPMs should still be fine 😉

Kind regards,

Mabula

I have master flats, master bias and bpm from the old version, I used bpm instead of darks so should I only need re-do the flats then?

@tonymacc, recreating the flats is probably wise, on some datasets, the old masterflats were overcorrection so if you see any hint of that, recreate them 😉

Make sure that you load the flats with your masterbias to create a proper new masterflat.

Cheers,

Mabula
