install using the command: apt install ./AstroPixelProcessor-2.0.0-beta38-Linux-DEB-64-but.deb

startup APP

set working directory

click "lights" button - APP dies and disappears from the screen

Is this a known problem?

Is APP supported on kubuntu?

Did I install correctly?

I don't usually go for non-LTS distros, but when I do I do regret things. This release of Ubuntu is only an interim to get me to 25.04, but that's currently unavailable so now I'm stuck with an inabilty to process APP on Ubuntu 24.10

Hi!

I'm just reporting what might be an installation issue, with Beta 27. (Yes, I relented and tried a beta. :-)

This is on Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon. APP Beta 27 downloaded and installed ok, and I am kicking the tires. But...I just noticed that there are some broken links that seem odd.

My laptop is a new P16 Gen2, and it supports two NVMe's, so I installed the OS on one, and /home on the other. Beta 27 is the first APP install on this machine, so whatever you see, came from that install.

APP is working ok when executed directly in my ~/opt/AstroPixelProcessor directory (although it would be nice if it showed up on a menu).

However, I just noticed that ~/usr/local/bin and ~/usr/share/applications contain broken links to APP, as they are not pointing to APP's actual location.

Just FYI...

- Bob

I have some leftover hardware, and I am considering reusing it dedicated to APP stacking, especially for large mosaics.

It`s a first-gen Threadripper with 16 cores, 64GB DDR4, and a GeForce RTX 3080 with 2x 512GB NVME SSD.

Two Questions:

What would be the best Linux distribution to run APP? Or would Windows work better?

Would it be worth to upgrade the RAM to 128GB for better performance or larger mosaics?

I have a lot of experience with Windows and Mac but just basic knowledge of Linux. So, any hint would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!
