Good evening!

My first try at a mosaic of IC1318. 4 panels, about 6hrs each (4 HA, 2 OSC RGB). I'm not sure about the colors yet, but I couldn't get more out of it without losing too much HA data. I'll attach the HA version as well, where some details have been lost with combining HA and RGB. All in all I'm happy with the result especially with my new scope (evostar 72ED), which is just a doublet.

Equipment: Evostar 72ED, HEQ5, ASI294MC, asiair.

Feedback is welcome.

That's beautiful! Yes your Ha signal is very strong and probably way stronger than the RGB. Maybe you can boost the signal a little in the R, G and B separate channels first before combining? Adding luminance might help for the detail as well I think, you can try to make a "fake" luminance by integrating R, G, B, Ha all in one integration (integrate all in the integrate tab).

@vincent-mod I did try to boost the signals in the RGB combine tool, but maybe not enough. I’ll try it again. And for the Luminance I tried to use the HA as Luminance in the RGB tool. But haven’t tried integrate all and then use it as a Luminance file! Thanks I’ll try that too! I’ll post the result here later!

Combining always will be less nice than just the Ha, as the Ha has all that signal it would require RGB to be as good to have no "degradation". Getting a nice RGB requires you to tone down the Ha signal which causes that. One solution would be to get way more RGB data, longer exposures on them etc.

@vincent-mod ah ok. That would require 4x the amount of signal per channel for a OSC camera I guess.... maybe I need to start saving for a mono camera. Or have 2 weeks of clear weather. Maybe I’ll add more RGB data this year if the object stays visual.
