Edit: up-dated image.
That's a great looking IC 1396 - nice and tight stars, some very good contrast throughout the nebula and some good looking color overall! Nicely done!
One small suggestion you might want to try. Since you have Photoshop, you might want to try running it through HLVG:
http://www.deepskycolors.com/tools.html
HLVG is based upon Pixinsight's SCNR tool and does an excellent job of removing green noise. I tried this on your image, and it gave to me what look like a much nicer color. As a matter or course, I always run HLVG on all my images - the only thing I need to decide is whether to use the low, medium, or high setting.
Anyway, a very sweet image nonetheless!
Thank you very much for your kind words, and this great advise, it really does make a big difference ! 🙂
The (unguided) tracking of the Star Adventurer surprised me.
(I only forgot to set back the ISO to 800, after focusing.)
I deleted the old picture and added the up-dated with the HLVG one above, so no unneeded space is lost over here.. 😉
Very nice IC1396 Betelgeuze 😉 !
One of the main problems with the current star color calibration tool is that it injects a green cast in most situations. I am working to have this corrected in the next APP version. Then a tool to reduce greens should become obsolete I think.
Kind regards,
Mabula
Thanks again Scot, I like it also even more now.. !
And thanks Mabula, looking forward to the next release of APP !
But the lack of that function, doesn't spoil my happiness for the moment.. 😉
Clear & Healthy Sky' s !
