The Elephant Trunk Nebula in Hubble palette by Mabula Haverkamp. Takahashi TSA102 @ F/5.6 on an Avalon Linear mount using an asi1600mmc with Astrodon 3nm Ha, SII, OIII filters. Data processed 100% in APP using the soon to be released version 1.083 which will include... a new Star Reducer Tool.
Dynamic Distortion Correction -- bizarre result
Working on a 2-panel mosaic of NGC 6729 I applied Dynamic Distortion Correction. APP came up with this:
Sort of reminds me of the Ring in The Expanse.
That's pretty cool, but not what you want I'm sure. Some setups don't need distortion correction so maybe that's actually the case here where the algorithm is having an issue with that. What happens when you switch that off? The rest is set to perform a mosaic I assume?
Ok I will report this huge bug to Mabula straight away, thanks for showing! 😉
