[Sticky] Sony ARW: tested camera models
Sony ARW support will be available from APP version 1.072 to be released around the 1st of March 2019.
Support for ARW files is now possible through the use of the external LibRaw library, which is an extension of Dave Coffin's dcraw code :
APP will read the complete raw sensor data for data calibration, just like APP does with Canon & Nikon raw files. The actual image data of a ARW file will be cropped to the dimensions of the model image dimensions as specified by Sony.
The following camera models are now fully tested and will be fully supported from APP 1.072:
If your camera model is not on this list, please share one of your ARW files and I will add full support for your camera.
Please upload your unsupported raws to:
login and password: appuser
and upload them to the UnsupportedRaws folder and I'll add the camera model to APP.
Be aware: APP will read all ARW files, but if your camera is not on this list yet, correct interpretation of your data cannot be fully guaranteed.
I have 4 Sony cameras, a5000, a5100, a6000 and a7.
A5000 and a7 are full spectrum cameras.
I normally use Samyang lenses with astro filter and IR/UV cut filter (is this necessary ?) for chromatic abberation ?
Does APP application automatically balance temperature colours for full spectrum raw files or do i need to check some setting in APP for full spectrum files ?
Thanks for any kind of information,
The Sony a6600 is also supported, as I just learned from successfully processing an image (93 lights + about 21 each of Darks, Flats, and Bias).
